Good day everyone! My name is Ma. Jessa Mae Daig a BSIT student at Northern Iloilo State University Lemery-Campus. Welcome to my OJT blog from February 22 to March 6 in the year of 2023.
Kalahi-CIDSS, otherwise known as the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services, is one of the poverty alleviation programs of the Philippine Government being implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). It uses the community-driven development (CDD) approach, a globally recognized strategy for achieving service delivery, poverty reduction, and good governance outcomes.
On February 22, 2023 is my first day as an OJT student so I went to the office as early as I can. At first I feel so nervous and excited as the same time. I admitted that I was having a hard time to Interact with the new people I met since we are in the same place but not familiarized with each other. I arrived at 7:25 Am in Municipal of Sara where kalahi-CIDSS located at. Around 8:00 o'clock in the morning Ma'am Emily Punay assigned us together with my companion to our perspective area and tour us in all the different department of municipality of sara.
After the tour Ma'am Rheolyn CEF of kalahi-CIDSS assist me to come in the office of kalahi-CIDSS where ma'am Punay assigned me. The moment that I step into the Kalahi-CIDSS office everyone greet me nicely and starting to introduce there self. I look at them with a smile in my face and also introduce my self. I felt so glad because the people in kalahi-CIDSS Office were very friendly and accomodating that’s why I feel very welcome in that place as a Trainee.
Ma'am Ma. Terressa Orient me for the rules and regulations in the office of kalahi-CIDSS. After the orientation ma'am Rheolyn give me a task to do so I started to work and encode all the Volunteers Profile of Kalahi-CIDSS .
The next day morning I perform the downloading and Installing of printer driver to the three laptops. After that I back to encoding of Volunteers Profile information.
In some other time I keep assisting the incoming guest, cleaning the office and filling the file, lay out of documents, making tarpapel and printing/xerox of the documents.
Days by days of my OJT journey I felt enjoyment while I’m working because of those positive people surrounds me. They made a joke so that I will be comfortable with them.
Every day is a challenge for me to stand out. But I always have a winning attitude through the guidance of the Lord.
I
learned a lot of things during my OJT journey. I was not only exposed to actual office environment but I also realized what I really want to do after I graduated. What career I would want to have.
There are Important things I’ve learned. I've learn to improve my vocal communication to everyone. I please everyone And try as much as I can to be polite and be nice, and I do it with sincerity. Because I believe that when we are kind to everyone, same kindeness returns to us.
I meet a lot of amazing and incredible people, one of it is Hon. Mayor Jon H. Aying he give us an advice and also guide us to become a better employee in the future. It motivates me to do more than I can, his words become my inspiration to do better.
I also meet the hard working brgy official of different brgy of municipality of sara during our field works, finance meeting and etc...
Lastly but not the less is I meet this lovely employee of Kalahi-CIDSS. Having this lovely people made me realize how lucky I am. Getting surprises on my birthday not only makes this special day fantastic but also brings special persons near to my heart. I have a responsibility to let these lovely people know how much I really appreciate their efforts for surprising me. Ma'am/Sir thank you for this memorable moments specially for ma'am jo and all the staff in this office. They made my birthday day to become a memorable events that I will treasure for a lifetime. They make me feel that I belong to them that we are a family and that's made me feel to be a lucky to have them.
This OJT journey developed my skills and improved my vocal communication and I gained a lot of knowledge through this experience. New knowledge and Experience is a priceless gift that I received.
That's all and thank you for your time. God bless!
